That was quite common before the existence of trinkets, since you knew that most places were not going to be warded because you had to buy the wards. Siv HD comes to mind and I did it myself many times imitating him. But now is quite hard to pull off and risky because since the existence of trinkets, generally most bushes are warded.

They didn't understand that when they put flakked on anything other than Kaisa, he gets gapped and does nothing whole game unless caps and jankos pop off. Flakked/Targanas getting gapped in lane is the key for T1 winning this. It just leaves so much space for Keria to clap the whole map.
