Did it on Xbox series S.
just save just before as OP did but quick load until it works.

For xbox:

-Do every step and reach the bandits area.
-We dont have the quicksave option so save BEFORE meeting the bandit.
-On the dialog interface, say no until get a final warning and give them the weapon on the final chance (I said no two times).
-Do not use "Bye" dialog option, at this point the pause button is unlocked so press it twice and thats all, you will get tons of money and a achievement.

If you still have troubles reload the savegame, I tried like six times until figured out how to do it, be patient.

Dawg it’s prolly more fun to just play the game you can make a lot of money pretty easily just doing jobs and artifact hunting plus’s repair broken gear and selling it is profitable if only by small amounts

It worked on ver. 1.6.02. Latest on steam at least. You just have to save when you reach the bandits and also if nimble doesnt appear, sleep more untill he spawns.

I literally just hunt for artifacts in the first zone and I made like 100k easy as heck. I also found an SVD and VSS in the first zone in unmarked stashes. It's incredibly easy to get kitted and rich just in the spawning area

On xbox i followed the steps in the video, declined giving the weapon once and had only the dialogue option Bye. I clicked B to exit and it worked. I tried a few dozen times doing it different ways

New update on Xbox made it so owl won't take any money from you if don't have enough to pay so I literally can't hit negative money i did this months ago and now its gone wtf

Just let them take the money and kill him, you get all the money back and lynx and you get the Viper 5
