Lock In 7% With Government Bonds:

Will the Burj Al Arab ever sink into the ocean with rising sea levels? Even if that doesn't happen, won't the Burj Al Arab have flooding issues as sea levels rise? Well, though the media portrays rising sea levels to be a serious threat to coastal cities and islands, it is nowhere near enough to threaten the Burj Al Arab within the next few centuries. This video describes how the Burj Al Arab deals with the threat of flooding and the future of the Burj Al Arab.

I stayed there for a week in Dec. 2002. My parents lived in Muscat Oman and we went to Dubai during visiting my parents. Yes it was nice, but I think Muscat Oman was a beautiful city and I’d take the Al Bustan Palace Hotel is so much better. I was not impressed with Dubai.

Anyone ever wondered if land reclamation from the Sea is as much of an issue for rising sea level as above water level ice melt? Like for the Netherlands, Dubai, China, etc. for every piece of land reclaimed, someone has to pay for the dispersement of sea level in an objectively smaller area. you couldn’t reclaim land for example by building a massive damn across Scotland to Norway without the water from what would’ve been there, moving to rise in other areas of the coast as a result? Just a guess though. Feel like nothings free, someone somewhere has to pay for anything additional gained if all other factors remain the same

Very Good clip, but the narrator sounds like he’s out of breathe the whole time. Take a breathe bro it’s ok.

Great commentary about rising sea levels. I am always confused why politicians, who always talk about rising sea levels always seem to purchase expensive beach houses.

The Burj Al Arab building will reach the end of its natural life long before the sea level becomes a problem.

That is an unbelievably limited understanding of how rise in sea level works.
Once the climate reaches a critical level the rise in sea level increases in a exponential rate

I'm here in Dubai now, the quality of these apartment blocks is shoddy. The fixtures and finishings and furniture are all the cheapest shit. This place will crumble before it sinks or burns

Low ball estimates of sea level rise have been used to create this 'best case' explanation. The likely and worse case scenarios are, shall we say, concerning.

I survived a Tsunami in Samoa 10 years ago. The Ocean 🌊 always wins. But I hope not. It's a stunning building.

Sea levels aren't rising...the land is at Hawaii, the oldest islands are to the northwest, the youngest to the southeast ! The newest is Hawaii which is largest...as you travel northwest they get smaller as they are older

Can you imagine listening to a professor teaching a class with this monotone.

Missing the point sadly, it’s not necessarily the building itself that’s the issue but it’s ancillary services, many of which in this case are just above sea level inland. Dubai was founded on creeks.

Umm the sea level would almost never go up because it’s in a gulf and the Burj Al Arab is on shallow water, with very strong pillars under it and it’s on an island 🏝

Sadly u don't seem to understand the sea lvl rise isn't the only problem but its rising exponentially faster not slowing down... but with the global weather changing i suspect it will be in more danger of freak storms destroying it
