On today's #WYSC, The UK general election results are in and the Conservative party wins by a landslide. Some are starting to use what's happening across the pond as a case for centrism in the U.S. 2020 presidential election, but can the two elections be compared? Also, The Hill's reporter, Alex Gangitano, joins us to talk about the China trade deal, and Michelle Obama has some words of wisdom for climate activist, Greta Thunberg.

We don’t have brexit to contend with and they didn’t have a broken healthcare system to fix.

No. Had nothing to do with the leftist policies of the labor party and everything to do with the labor party's flip on brexit. We don't have a brexit here.

Am I the only one who gave a dislike after 15 seconds and skipped to the next video

No. Both Julia and Saagar had this wrong today. The polls never projected Labour to win. The hope of Corbyn's ascension for the position of prime minister was an overreach, unlike the polls in here where the top Dem candidates show victory against Trump in key states (especially Bernie consistently). It wasn't about the progressive policies, but on Brexit where Labour failed their positioning and had to fight against the popularity of Brexit itself.

U.S resident here. When did we join the E.U and have been trying to leave for the last couple years? When did we have more than 2 parties w/ a parliament government? We're so similar to the UK so I had to ask. Garbage headline that fuels the misinformation machine. Thanks

Johnson actually said that spending many billions more on Universal Healthcare is his first priority. He is not comparable to the Republicans at all.

People wanted Brexit. So give it to them. Americans want M4A. So give it to us.

Democrats beware! We are pissed! If you think you are going to pull this again when Trump wins even bigger than 2016- we will NOT tolerate it!

No we're not the same as the UK... We don't have a Brexit issue... UK citizens seemed to like most of what Labour is about but they dropped the ball with Brexit. There really is no comparison here... 🙄

I love how all of the comments are trying to rationalize this massive defeat in Britain, and doing their best to pretend the same sort of wave isn't coming in the USA in 2020.

If UK politics had any effect on US politics the US would have gotten universal healthcare years ago.

Its possible the UK had a one issue election. I don't know if the US has a one issue election this time.

If Johnson or Corbyn win, the UK still has the NHS.

Labor is not against the establishment enough, at least not clearly expressed that to the voters, that is the message.

Bernie-ism took a brutal beating yesterday in Britain.

There IS a link between Boris and Trump. Many countries swung back to the right in elections recently. The pendulum is swinging back to the right. I don’t know how we’re all connected like that but we are.

I’m a Brit and I voted Labour in the UK election. Bernie is 100% more capable than Jeremy Corbyn was. The policy’s although good enough were all not presented or defended well. Also people have Brexit fatigue and wanted it to be over with. Not sure how the US system compares but the Tories hits 42% of the voter share as part of the first past the post system - which shows that once again the voting system is not fit for purpose.
