I was a senior at Illinois State University in 1969 and Tower of Power played at the University Union. Great Concert indeed !

The Tower has had some very talented lead singers, Rick Stevens, who served as lead singer in its early years, lending his vocals to the East Bay funk group's signature 1972 hit, “You're Still a Young Man, ” ... Later on So Very Hard To Go with Lenny Williams performing the vocals. The song is the band's biggest hit to date in the United States, peaking at No. 17 on the Hot 100 on 28 July 1973 and No. 4 on KHJ radio in L.A. on 31 July 1973.
