What is your favorite type of lipstick? My faves are, ones that apply more like a tint and can be built up!

my favorite type of lipstick is the type that looks good, brown and vampy but not TOO vampy on my dark skin. i’ve always loved a dark/vampy aesthetic like 90s brown or even satin; like satin matte. lys lipsticks have been helping me achieve that look

Oh I wouldn't have guessed your number 1! I do love their colors: not too saturated/poppy in tone, easy to sheer or build up without ever becoming too intense or messy. I like the feel as I apply it. Lightweight and balmy. But I do find that with both their lipstick and oils my lips feel dry throughout the wear and my lip lines are emphasized bc of the dryness, so I gave away the oil and only have one shade of the lipstick.

Hmmm, I don't know what I'd guess for your favorite lipstick because the first thing that came to mind were those liquid lip balms (in Charlie) but that's not lipstick. The second guess that came to mind was the Kosas lipstick, but that was 5. So now I'll place my bets on Victoria Beckham or Jones Road...

I love the Nabla Cosmetics Beyond Jelly Lipsticks! It's so moisturizing! It has a thick cushiony feel that grips the lips. Also, it has decent pigment that can be built up and lasts relatively well for a moisturizing lip product. I was thinking of getting the Kosas Shiny Lipstick, but when I swatched it next to my Nabla one at Sephora it was a very similar colour to the Kosas one I was interested in and the Kosas one didn't feel as thick, grippy and moisturizing so I decided against it. Also I struggle finding lip products that don't pull too warm and the Nabla lipstick shades that I've tried don't! I have the shades Luz, Dea and Sublime. It has a nice light coconut scent and I like the packaging too!

The kosas wet lipstick doesn’t last long on me at all

It would have been helpful to see L'avenue applied fully too, not just tapped on. Do you find it too dark/overwhelming that way?

I love Rose Inc's shade "Besotted", a beige pink. I don't really care for the taste/scent of the lipstick, but the scent doesn't last, but the shade lasts pretty well. You have me sooo curious about the Freck, though! I was thinking the Main Character shade looks so brown, but it looks so great on all the models. I adore the Merit Beauty lipsticks too! And I love how they smell. I tried Slip and didn't like how it looked on me -- too brown, unfortunately. I can't wear brownish nude lipsticks like Whirl or Slip if they go tooo brown. But I love love love Baby and Millenial. Both look good on me. Also, one brand and color you might want to try if you like comfy mattes: GenSee's "Margaret". I just got it and it's wonderful! Another rosy-beige, leaning more on the rosy/pink side.

Unfortunately, the Kosas Weightless Lipstick doesn't stay for me! Within minutes it is gone! I am currently trying Mob Beauty's Soft Matte Lipstick with one of their Hydrating Lip Balms (in M102 mauve greige), and it's feels very moisturising and has stayed for hours. I have a lot of redness in my face, so I find I like neutral greys, browns and plums to offset the redness.
