I use water based acrylic paint in small amounts for air dry clay because I don't have the pigment for projects going into jars because you can't paint some of the clay after it's in the jar. I make the dirt this way then make the tiny mushrooms to sit in the jar that get glued in place once painted. I do use a nail you use to hang stuff on the wall yo scratch the grass texture in and paint the grass in the jar. It's a challenge to do it this way.
