A brief how-to guide on starting the fire in your wood stove hot tub with helpful tips on efficient fire management and accelerating the water heating time.

Outdoor bathing in a wood fire hot tub is about the complete process of chopping the wood, lighting and stoking the fire, stirring the water, and adjusting the temperature before the soak. The sum of the parts create meaningful routines that ground us in nature.

To light the fire in a fire-heated hot tub, you only need a small amount of paper, a handful of kindling, a lighter, and a full hot tub of fresh or saltwater. To bring the tub water up to temperature, you’ll add larger diameter logs of wood. We also show you how to control the fire with the stove lid and how to avoid producing smoke.

You’ll be able to quicken the wood fired hot tub heating time with our tips, such as wood stove air flow and stirring your hot tub water.
