After seeing many $50, 000, 000 places on billionaires' row, I can't believe it's only $33, 000, 000

It's worth the price. Unlike the unadorned box themed grey and white nothings that millionaires are proud of today. It's elegant and timeless.

Honestly, as an Interior Designer and a wife of an architect...we wonder the same thing...WHY wouldn't you want incredible finishes, architecture and beautiful furnishings. A home doesn't have to be FUSSY but finishes that are incredibly crafted to last a lifetime or more...wealthy people, PLEASE, we as designers and architects can enhance your life with SO MUCH BEAUTY...the dreams are endless.

Finally a fantastic and beautiful home that has NOT had its unique original interior ripped out for some drab modern interior.

Gorgeous building. 123 East 35th Street, the James F. D. Lanier Residence. Built from 1901 to 1903. The house is designed by Francis L. V. Hoppin.

There are many mega million dollar condos and houses, many in this price range, or more...but they look sort of pathetic, next to this. This is breathtaking, and redone oh so beautifully, with enormously perfect taste.
One only has to hope someone with equally excellent taste, buys it. Sadly money can't buy that. Though intelligence can find you people who do. Sadly money can't buy intelligence either. I wish this place all the best, for it's future..and not a decorator who thinks 50's modern would be SOO clever.

Because now the supplies alone would be 33 million, and sadly no one does that kind of beautiful construction work anymore 😢

“Ah to be alive in the gilded age” is so funny cause it was called gilded due to the glitz being a thin veneer over a rotten core. The vast majority of people did not live like this. Beautiful though!

It's gorgeous! But does it share walls with other homes? That's the drawback I see.

I totally agree that today’s millionaires are boring with their homes! This is a stunner!

For most Americans living in the "gilded age", it was being very poor living hand to mouth with no right to an education and children working and living in textile mills and coal mines. And if you were injured on the job, you got nothing.
