Here's an easy way to make your own pocket hole plugs. Kreg jigs are great but the plugs to fill kreg pocket holes are pricey. Instead of buying pre-cut plugs for the exposed pocket hole, here's a cheap way to do it yourself. These kreg jig pocket hole plugs can be sanded easily after you plug the holes and can be stained and finished. If you're on a budget, this is the cheapest way to fill pocket holes with dowel wood plugs yourself.
FYi: The dowel for the pocket hole plugs came be bought at dollar stores to reduce the cost further.

Great tip. I just bought the R3 jig kit. A real live saver for doing face frames. It's awesome!

Chris, great video and tip. All the negative comments are just sad. He's trying to provide an alternative solution, if you don't like it, just move on, no need for the rude comments. Not everyone needs to make fine furniture type projects or have the time or the tools to do it the "real" way. We all know you're all master woodworkers. Where are your videos showing us your expertise? Didn't think so. Thanks Chris, for the option.

Nice tip. Been making cabinets for years, and use pocket holes for door frames and never thought of this. Thanks.

Nice tip! I haven't had the need to fill any yet. If I use pocket holes in a project, I have them hidden. But nice to know there is a cheap solution if I ever do fill them. Thanks.

Nice ... and if you don;t have a Japanese saw but you do have some sawdust you can mix sawdust with a little glue, fill to just over proud allow it to set and whack with palm sander :-)

Hello Chris, seems to be a nice sugestion, especially on a lose board like you showed. In practice however the dowels would be very hard to reach with a saw and a sander, for instance in the back of drawers and cabinets, so i don't really see how this would be usefull?
Greetings, Chris

Nice tip. I have also used wood glue and sawdust to make my own filler for those on some painted projects .

thanks for the video, here in some parts of Australia we just dont get the selection of stuff that some other countries readily do and its good to be able to come up with something like this that will do for a few projects . If doing a lot of pockethole joinery then the Kreg would be a great idea - i love their products, but for one off or small stuff this would be fine. thanks Chris :-)
