As a man running a contracting business I tip my hat to your patience for perfect coffee. I’ll stick with my Folgers made in a 10 year old coffee pot and drank out of the plastic lid of my 15 year old Stanley thermos. It’s not glorious and usually has some grounds in it, but she gets the job done when work starts at 5:30am and I only have 2 minutes to get out the door

Buy machines that cost a fortune, and try with 10 bags of beans until you get that perfect espresso dialed in 😅

“Something on the cheaper end”

That was an image of my old grinder that broke after literally about 15 uses so I concur 😂

another thing for beginners, make sure your portafilter isn't loose or overtightened. ive seen a double shot run for a minute and a half before because someone pulled too hard

What brand is that black single dose coffee grinder with wooden lid and long dosing cup? It’s very similar to the varia VS3 but I like the wooden accent! Thank you

What do you think of auto drip machines

high altitude coffee should use less coffee due to higher density but lower altitude does the opposite.

Isn't a slower shot called a ristretto? Which makes it creamier and tastier with less water? If not, what's the difference from a slower pull and a ristretto?

Notice the pressure handle is different on every shot he's comparing. 😂

So the takeaway I get from this is:
"Barristas have the easiest job in the world since once you find the sweet spot, the machine does everything for you"

just use fresh instant coffee. Instant coffee gets bad rep because it gets stale quick, but if you divide it into smaller jars you can keep it fresh for longer

Use a hand grinder. Thats the advice for someone who doesn't want to break their bank to drink coffee.

The basket size is not relevant. Time is a result of the size of your grind and the ratio you are brewing.
Just use the right basket for the right ratio, the rest is grind size.

What’s the ratio of bean weight when it converts to espresso liquid? 18g -> is optimal?
