Yes! He showed the back of the Jr! They are using a translucent stain and not painting it all black 👍 Now I'm going to have a harder time deciding whether to get the Jr or the special!

I used to know Jack Long and Pete Traynor up there by McQuade St back in the sixties and early seventies. Haven't been in T.O. in twenty years; good to see the store still going.

I really think GIBSON is trying very hard to bring back quality, value and innovation to their lineup for 2019 (and they seem to be on the right track...)!

No mention of the 2019 Les Paul Standard 50s Faded Honeyburst... picked one up from my local Long & McQuade and it's easily the best Les Paul I've ever played, but there's very little information on the guitar. Were these a limited production run for L&M?

Luv just about all the updates for this year. Not sure about the new neck heel tho. The last version looked a bit smoother and less clunky. All else looks great to me.

I wish they weren’t reserving the ebony to be used only in the contemporary series. It would be better put in place to be used to make a USA lined les Paul custom. Or could be brought to more of the es line being sent to USA shop. Or hells sake, reserve all ebony for custom shop models and only use richlite for all the USA line. Custom shops shouldn’t have richlite while the USA lineup can receive it on models that will not sell as well. And also if people are open to weight relief and new features they shouldn’t be against richlite. Custom shop les Paul custom enthusiasts are, on the other hand very against the use of richlite as a way to cheapen the costs and quality of the historic reissues. Just saying.

Removed the neck binding from the Studio Les Pauls. Bet they stick it in a gig bag as well. See nothing that makes me want to run out and buy one.

Great guitars. Just a shame so many come with the scratch plate attached. Especially the Classics.

I've never met someone who prefers a slim taper neck.

Trying to sell a bass as kind of a "children's bass". Sorry, the best way to keep production numbers low. These marketing guys should be fired. (If i want to sell a product, i point to the really positive aspects: comfortable to play, great ton, massiv attack (which the LP JR DC bass probably has) instead of triggering negative prejudice. What an idiot...

In two words: nothing new. Same expensive firewood :)

Gibson is no longer the brand of the working player, they are now officially the brand of the privileged class. In addition, these new changes and updates are not that impressive either, they're still working with limited ideas and a lack of vision. I love Gibson, but I hate the ping pong game I've seen going on with the company for so many years now. New management? So What, who can afford your your guitars Gibson?
