I always thought the line "This is my fight!" Was more in tune with the fact that Lockdown was straight up helping Humans hunt and killing his own kind for the longest regardless of their faction.
Remember how furious he was over Rachet, I'm more than certain he put 2 and 2 together that Lockdown was there for every single one of them. So he's saying he needs to be the one to kill Lockdown for all of them.
And the same time this also still makes since, he just saved Cade by killing the human and it messed up his focus once again just like the Forest Battle he lost in the second film

Optimus doesn't have any ego. I already knew that Optimus kept telling them to run was for their protection and of course no distractions. Optimus was beating Lockdown until he saw Cade in danger and stopped to save him. Just like in the forest battle in Revenge of the Fallen, Optimus got killed because he got distracted at the last minute looking for Sam, if he didn't get distracted, he would've won.

He could definitely won this fight if cade was not in danger. Look, megatron stabbed him in chest, like lockdown. This might be the reason why optimus had flashbacks of his forest battle, he got stabbed in the same way and 2 times bc of humans who distracted him 2 times.

and it did happened right? optimus was to focus saving cade by getting shot from that guy, hence prime lost his focus and lockdown has a easy shot to attack prime from behind and stab him easily. thats why prime got little mad when tessa and her bf came to save them. nice detail👌🏼
