DJI Phantom 2 Vision Battery Test -25 Minutes of Flight Time

To prove that the Phantom 2 Vision's battery lasts 25 minutes in flight, we flew one of our Vision's on a windy day until the battery was completely drained. To simulate a typical flight, we had FPV transmission turned on and was recording 1080p video at the same time. Hovering in one place allowed us to keep the Phantom in the frame and actually takes more power to do than flying around.

To save you 25 minutes of time, we sped up the footage as the Vision flew next to an analog clock. This video is only 1:30, we'd rather you spend 25 minutes soaring through the air with one of our Visions.

How many mah is the battery? I have seen a dealer in Norway sell it with a 3s 4400mah, but it can hold a 3s 5500mah is that you use on the test?

For those that are curious (and because I cant get the danged thing to actually let me reply to someone), foreward flight in a rotary winged aircraft uses significantly less energy than hovering, due to a phenomenon known as 'translational lift'. Once translational lift sets in, the aircraft can reduce collective (or, in this case, throttle back) and still remain at the same airspeed and altitude.

If this aircraft was flying a circuit at a decent cruising clip instead of hover for the test, it could of easily bought itself another three or four minutes.

This is not a winged aircraft... moving does not increase efficiency... hovering is going to give you a longer flight time... end of story

Does draining the battery to this extent decrease the battery life? What is the advisable flight time to retain good battery health? My understanding is that these batteries are approximately hundred and $160.

my vision 2 plus is giving critical battery warning at 80% life 
flys for around 5 mins and then dies . glad i bought mine in the uk so i have comeback
