As an anthropologist and a sociologist I experienced the myopic sophistry of scientism at a major university. However, two factors distinguished me from most of my classmates: I was 60 years old when I graduated and had the life experience to recognize faulty methodology. I also had the ability to remember something that professors and curriculum could not: the definition of THEORY. I witnessed first hand that power structures within modern academia can only sustain themselves by a fierce rejection of any inter-disciplinary contribution. (One exception was the study of complex adaptive systems, or "Chaos Theory", a fantastic introduction to fractals and scaling, the unpredictable power of seemingly innocuous factors when networked together).
What a great excerpt of a Velikovsky interview and summary of the Velikovsky Affair! Question: Did Velikovsky pursue legal recourse for damages? Did his estate make any attempt to validate his legacy? Curious. I know more and more voices today are respectfully referencing his work with appreciation.

Watching stuff like this makes me think astronomical signs were used a lot more in the past than we probably know. Considering how much some of these ancient civilizations knew about them. (Abraham?) The star shining at Christs birth, what else?
