I just started growing my online income in 2014 and had spent years chasing passive income streams that turned out to be bull. YouTube is full of fake passive sources from blogging to…yeah, even making a YouTube channel. That’s why I’m sharing the truth on my five favorite passive income ideas, income streams I’ve used for years and that are actually legit online income.

I’ll show you in my own business accounts, which of my income streams are passive and which are a regular business you have to work. That doesn’t mean you should only go after the passive sources. You have to do something, right? But if you want to make money online and not have to work a full-time job, these passive income ideas WILL make that happen.

I’ll show you how to set up passive income as well as how much you can make in each idea. I’ll give you the truth on the pros and cons of each income stream and help you decide which to try.

I’ve been considering writing a kids book (25-30 pages). I’m in my early twenties and I have a few ideas floating in my head relating to life advise/lessons I feel children don’t from school. I also have the idea to include tougher vocabulary throughout the story with the definition on that corresponding page. As I read more (currently reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens) I’ve begun to realize the importance of reading, and also am looking for ways to increase my passive income streams. I have a ebay store and I can tell you that it's not passive. But it does supplement my income.

Oil and gas royalties and mineral rights can also be a source of passive income. Mineral rights can be purchased, and most types do not obligate the mineral owner to pay any expenses related to drilling or operating the well. It's more of a long-term, purposeful strategy - not a get rich quick scheme.

Love the advice. Passive income takes a lot of work. I have 3 rental properties and I'll tell you this... at times, it is not passive. A lot of the time it is, but when a water heater goes out... yea I'm working. Still wouldn't change my investing though. I really do love real estate.

I have self-published books and have had NO SALE I have created journals, bullet journals, and written work. Therefore, it is a nice idea, but the reality is something else. I have to do everything organically due to lack of funds. DEFINITELY BLOGGING AND YOUTUBE are a LOT of work. SURVEYS (agree) are also not that easy and a waste of time. I agree with you on Ebay and Amazon FBA so challenging. I have found challenging the affiliate blogging, not saying it is not possible. I will have to see about that one and experiment. I have created courses but have not gotten much traction. I am looking to find ways to make an income after losing my sole source as of the 28th of Feb. I had surgery taking me out of work. I used Teachable and lost my shirt on it. Virtual summits are easier to talk about but not as easy to put together (I would like to put together summits and conferences). I have created POD wall art, inspirational/motivational works, etc. haven't gotten it out as I desire to. Thank you for sharing.
