MoraKniv | 511 Basic | 2021 LTD Edition
Oh the humble Mora Knife, this was the first Mora i was intoroduced to and it has captured my heart ! In all honesty i knew Mora Knives where good but i just diddnt know how good !
There has been extensive testing on these, from the construction industry to getting absolutely annihilated in testing from other reviwers on YouTube ! Just go have a peek at some of those after you have watched this :O ! (They do rather well i may add)
The humble knife that has the best bang for you buck i think you will find anywhere, at £5.80 (at the time of recording) you just have not a leg to stand on to say its crap. They are massed produced but still it doesnt quite feel like its cheap.
Yes you get an ABS handle and a polypropelyne sheath but to be honest it doesnt feel to much dissimilar from my Glock Knives haha. There is one point to make thought is that i wish i got a stainless steel version of this, they both have their pros and cons but i feel i would personally benefit more from the lasting edge retention and the corrosion resistance over the easier to sharpen carbon steel.
I obviously use the tip of my knife more than i thought after using this mora haha, as that is completely blunt buuut the rest has survived alright ! i will be taking this for a sharpen and concentrate more on the tip that the rest.
The handle i belive they mate a little larger, possibly to accomodate larger mittens, as my hands are rather small and you get some wiggle room in it haha. I can vouch for it not slipping that much at all, i have used it with oily and wet hands and did not really make a difference in terms of the grip.
Some of you may perhaps wonder why i barely say my knives are utter shit, the reality is that they are more niggles than shit. Unless the blade steel is god aweful like the nauta ! That really defeats the object of a knife in my opinion. Plus i dont buy a blade i feel will be shit to use, I purchase all (bar two which where sent in for me to use and review and then send back) my blades myself, they are not freebies! Perhaps this is why you dont see massive amounts of high end knives on my channel, because frankly i dont have the moola to spend on a Chaves or Hinderer ect every week. I have another job besides this and i do this in my spare time, i dont make money of the back of this in any way. All of the above is just meant to say im behing as honest as i can with my reviews, i may forget points and say the wrong thing from time to time so i can only but apologise for that.
