Greece is my home away from home, and my total love affair with it dates back to my very first trip to this mystical country in 2015. My first stop back then was to this tiny Ionian island. For many, Zakynthos is a collection of extraordinary beaches and some outlandish nightlife, but to me, it's more than a pin on a map; It's where I come back to connect with friends and revisit all the simple things that make me happy. Welcome to Zakynthos: an island very close to my heart.

Planos, Zakynthos.

That is what attracted me to this video.

My wife and I have been to Zakynthos 8 times now and the last 7 years were spent in Planos. We are going there again twice this year.
Yes. If we could we would live there permanently if we could 1. find the right property and 2. have the the courage to leave everything and everyone we know and love behind in the UK.

The way we see it, when we visit Zakynthos, we are not going on holiday but going home for 2 weeks.

This is by far my favorite island. I’ve been going there since 1978. Before there was a ship on shipwreck beach. My ex moved back in 2007, lives in the village of Agalas. Has travena, but will be retiring in October “22”. Will hope to go back next year. I could sit in a cafe in Keri just people watching. Enjoy your travels.

I've been in heaven. When I met sunrise on the view point at the top of navaggio beach with my wife I fel in the sky. I have never seen before and after views like that.. never
It was great moment of all my life.
But then, we went to Agios Nicolaos and rented speedboat, and go through sea and blue caves to beach of navaggio. It was 5 hours full of happynes.
And after that, when we went in Zante city to hotel we overturned on rental car Smart... But, It was the culmination of my emotions.

It was the best day of my life.
And thank you Mitchell, because I saw your video before trip in zakinthos and You Ve impressed me for my trip

This is exceptionally well done. The focus on the subject (and not the presenter), the writing & editing, the commentary that is insightful. Really appreciated that this was a guide-like travelog, and not just a supercut of (as you pointed out) techno & drone shots. I've been to the Ionian 40+ times; you nailed it.

One thing I will say, in respectful disagreement with your Belgian friend, is that off-season (& even wintertime) Ionian can be just as beautiful and idyllic as the summer - admittedly in very different ways. The everyone-knows-your-business element is there, and is true of most small communities, so the extra crowds in summer and focus on tourist season hospitality that they bring definitely masks it. But there's something surreally beautiful about winter grey-mist mornings where smells of burning firewood carry, and (if you're in the right place) a donkey's bray in the distance reaches your ears.
