Geranium Essential Oil

Our organically crafted Geranium Essential Oil is steam distilled
from the tender green leaves and flowering tops of
the Pelargonium x asperum (syn Pelargonium graveolens)
plant. Geranium Essential Oil is stored in specialized glands
throughout the green parts of this vigorous perennial which is
released when crushed. The essential oil has a fresh, soft yet
penetrating lemony, rosy aroma with rich, leafy green/herbaceous
body notes.

Geranium Essential Oil is highly valued and used in premium
brands of perfumery and cosmetics. Pelargonium
graveolens [Family: Geraniaceae] is native of eastern part of the
Mediterranean region, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. But
this small shrub also grows widely on Reunion island, France;
Spain; Italy; Morocco; Egypt and China. China is currently the
largest producer of Geranium Essential Oil. The harvest period
extends from march to September in China, while in Egypt, the
leaves are cropped in June and July.

In his book Aromatherapy for Healing the Spirit, Gabriel
Mojay states that Geranium Essential Oil can assist with
an imbalance of the will that manifests as feelings of stress,
restlessness, irritability, anxiety and fear.
