We travelled in Italy for 18 nights by train. First stop was Venice, Venezia Italia.
Our 5 tips:
1. Venice is full of steps. Book your hotel near the train station. Then you can explore Venice straight away without lugging your bags around. For the same reason try and pack light.
2. St Marks Square is a must especially visiting St Marks Basilica. I fell in love with the 4 life size horses. Europe's finest collection.
3. We found better quality of dining at the Dorsoduro!
4. We took a gondola ride @ 6pm (less busy time)
5. Two nights in Venice is more than adequate to explore if you are limited on time.
