“One Piece will end in five years” that was being said five years ago, it ain’t ending anytime soon

When the series ends, I would love for Oda to release a book with scrapped ideas and characters he didn’t have the time for.

What a coincidence, the one piece is also as old as I was when I was 27

Oda is just so good at improvising the story that everything feels like planned if you never really read SBS or interview of him

We need a One Piece based search book called "Where's Warlord?" With each page featuring a different one in an appropriately themed One Piece location. "You must find Mihawk on Kuraigana Island, but he's lost somewhere in a sea of Giant Gorillas."

Can't wait to get the Elbaf just in time to introduce the 109 Brave Warrior Kings (they will each get 15 chapters dedicated to exploring their characters)

Tldr: Oda just thinks of some random cool shit. Then proceeds to add said cool shit into his story. Rinse and repeat

No one:

One Piece Theorists: It's a meta-phor for Luffy's stretchy abilities. Oda is bringing his protagonist's attributes to the story itself.

I'd like to remind everyone Horikoshi, the author for MHA, sent in fan art of One Piece 20 something years ago, and it was featured in an SBS. That same mangaka just wrapped up his first successful series at 10 years and 430 chapters. One Piece is STILL going, and Oda redrew that same fan art in celebration of his buddies success. Horikoshi was 16-17 when he sent in that fan art. He went from a teen fan to a successful adult peer, and the series he loved as a teen is STILL GOING!

One piece being older than the country I live in is crazy

I have to honestly say that I don't really care if the number of chapters each year drop down. I want Oda to get as much rest as he can and take care of his health so he can finish One Piece without stressing too much.
I have been reading One Piece since 2001 or so, so when I was 11, so One Piece has been with me most of my life. And Obviously I want to see it finished one day. And if we as readers have to put up with less chapters per year then so be it. I think the best would be to maybe turn One Piece into a Monthly Shonen jump title. This way Oda might have more time to work on his chapters, maybe?

When One Piece is over, I want a book detailing when Oda thought of everything. Like, when did he create Imu? What was the original 5 year ending? When did he decide on endgame characters powers? That stuff.

As a kid I thought the seven warlords of the sea were the seven most powerful pirates in the sea and they represented pretty much what the four emporers were. I thought the series would span a bunch of arcs where he pretty much defeats all seven one by one to become pirate king. But then when I started watching it properly a couple of years later it was just “oh, they’re just seven particularly strong pirates that the world government use as privateers”

I truly admire the work Liam does, bro works just as hard as oda making sure my timeline is filled with glorious fictional pirate content

Weird, when I saw this video, the thumbnail had Crocodile on it with an arrow pointing to him saying "It's his fault", but upon clicking the video, it now has an image of a young Luffy in 1997 and an old Luffy in 2024. What's up with that?

7 things that made One Piece last this long:
1. The story that will leave you hooked.
2. The adventures that will take you places.
3. The characters that will never be forgotten.
4. The islands that leave you breathless.
5. The unanswered questions that still need to be to be answered.
6. The battles that you'll never forget.
7. The moments that will make you laugh and cry.

And yet it’s still not stale. Oda is amazing at what he does

The effect that the Shichibukai had on One Piece makes it even more poetic to me that Jinbe finally joined before the climax of the story, bringing the series full circle.

In other words, Oda has an incredible amount of ideas, including last-minute decisions, and all of them are so interesting that it would be a shame to reject them. So editors and Oda work very hard on trying to fit as much cool stuff into one saga as possible, and even then, manga is still going because ideas are still popping. I truly feel like Oda could write One Piece forever, if not for health issues, and if he would do chapters monthly. The world that he built is so huge that even exploring a flashback of the void century in its entirety could take years if Oda decided to do so. The most amazing thing about him is that he could do it if he wanted to. Oda is Messi of manga.
