Croque Monsieur and Madame - HIGHLY REQUESTED by Viewers - French Ham and Cheese Sandwich

preview_player
Показать описание
Let's make a Croque Monsieur and a Croque Madame - two French sandwich recipes that consist of ham, gruyere cheese, and a Bechamel sauce. The only difference is that the Madame is topped with a fried or poached egg.

And since we've seen a lot of people ask about the griddle insert for the Weber gas grill, then we decided to whip out the Weber Genesis with the handy sideburner for this video!

If you're looking for a new sandwich recipe to try on the griddle (and in the oven), then give these classic French sandwich recipes a try! Enjoy!

Yes and I mainly keep fresh nutmeg and grate it as I need it.

Always use my own fresh grated nutmeg!

Yes, I use nutmeg!

They both looked great, but I add way more béchamel than you did. I put lots of cheese inside, then pour the sauce over the top before adding the egg. I don't think it matters how you make it, it's a very delicious dish! Not to mention, so easy to make!

Whether I’m making a béchamel or a sauce mornay, I always add nutmeg to mine. Have for years.

Nice work. Looks delicious. I use nutmeg in about every white sauce/gravy I make.

How about using a torch at the end to melt the cheese & give it that browning look,

I noticed you put the griddle insert on top of your grill grates. What's your reason for doing that? Have you noticed any temperature loss? Would you recommend doing it that way? Thank you for your content!

I absolutely always add fresh ground nutmeg to my béchamel sauces. Used pre-ground until I tried grinding my own and have never gone back. Huge flavor difference. Great video!

Yes nutmeg. Yes with crust. Made these at home and then made more. So good. Really enjoy all the vids.

I grate my nutmeg for bechmale sauce. The nuts last almost forever. Not so for the pre ground. The pre ground has a very short shelf life

I guess I'm going to have to get a Pizza oven, those sandwiches look great. I never used nutmeg but I will give it a try.

I noticed you put the griddle on top of the racks. Have you noticed any difference? Would you recommend doing that?

Those look so good. I've only used dried nutmeg when making a bechamel.

Wow. Looks a little to involved for me. But I have MS and the M doesn't stand for multitasking. 😅 I'd definitely order it at a restaurant tho. Good Vid. Be Blessed.😊

Yes, I put fresh nutmeg in my bechemel. I keep fresh nutmeg on hand for a cookie recipe I make, and multiple cocktails I make. Since I have it on hand I add it to my bechemels.
