I started watching your channel a long time ago. You pretty much taught me networking. It started out as a hobby and became an essential skill I use close to everyday. Im an Audio/Digital media engineer. When I started networking wasnt a thing, digital tv from analog was just beginning. Anyway just wanted to thank you. You literally help me put food on the table for my family. I definitely had to work hard myself but you gave me most of my knowledge networking. Thanks again.

Vibe coding isnt a problem. No one will make a good application with it. Its purely a demonstration of making money through marketing and rage baiting.

Hey Eli - I'm a new-grad who's working now due to a lucky interview opportunity I got, and I love all of these vlog-style videos basically serving as mentoring for me since I'm one of the younger guys working fully remote. It is a frontend react role but I'm very focused on always learning new skills and hope to pursue software engineering as a career over my life. It's really cool to hear everything you have to share so please keep it up

I semi-vibe code, leveraging my coding knowledge to ask informed questions and then optimizing through YouTube videos of skilled game developers. This approach has proven effective for game development, but its applicability to other domains remains unexplored.

Eli! The first coding tut I ever came across was one of your PHP ones. Now I'm a JS/react developer - please forgive me!!

Imagine doing 10 pushups then stopping when someone walks in and asks you how many was that and you say 100, that's vibe coding.

You must really be a thorn in some of the people at google's rib, since they nerfed your exposure to below sea level, considering the quality of the materials you create.
Thank you for all your work and wish you the best of health so you can keep this up as much as you want.
Cheers!

The first Eli video I saw was back in 2016 at the beginning of my career in networking. Glad to see he’s still making based content.

As a senior (of 14 years) I tried "Vibe Coding" my task, and I had to do at least 3 hours of refactoring, for a task that takes 3 hours lol

@22:30 Haha! So true. 99% of my clients never read a word of the contract for the bid. Most of the time it works out fine. We hash out the details verbally and most of the time we are all on the same page. I almost prefer it this way, the 1% that read the contracts have a tendency to be very difficult to work with.

Ugh I have a feeling fixing "vibe coding" is in my future. Lovely. I'll bet it's written to be very readable and logical code for humans.

The thing with these young people is that not only do they want their money for nothing. They also want their chicks for free.

After 13 years in the industry I feel I think for a living.

I've been programming for almost 18 years now. Vibe coding changes the whole game. When you combine that with MCP it's a whole new world. Use it or get left behind. If you are a developer, now isn't the time to complain or thing it's going to be a fade. This is it. It's not going anywhere. Change with the times or get left behind.

yoyo, good to see you back. I'm mean you've been there but your videos haven't been popping in my feed lol. Where's orange? I remember about 10 years ago, I was an IT student and we had this windows server cool project, we had to come up with special ideas, I watch one of your Windows server videos and the "Roaming profiles" catches my attnetion. I implement it and demo it in front of the class based on your video, then everybody is like wow, this guy is smart, then the professor is like ok but it has to be working on the backup AD as well, I shut down the main Windows Server it works on the backup AD server and I get an A lol. Have always found your videos helpful in the past. You've been that guy that explains the things that matter. Good seeing you after a while.

You can code app with AI just like you can pay someone to code an app for you. The coding isn't what matters, it's the business/user value delivered that's what really matters. If you provide value, you'll make money. When you stop providing value, you'll stop making money. However, it's important to be careful to be able to design and strategize so you don't fall victim to not understanding the code or how to provide value when the time comes. In the end, shortcuts wont keep you going very long or truly get you ahead in the end.

Please don't self deprecate your input Eli. I appreciate everything you have to say.

I am a Vibe coder but I review, test, and understand it all, that's not vibe coding in my book—that's using an LLM as a typing assistant.

"If AI can do coding then we should just let AI do coding" - agree.
And if an engineer can't do coding then we shouldn't let them do coding (incl. vibe coding). Simple as that. Just gatekeep the tech.
