Refreshing your list was so varied and didn't follow any trend from other BookTube videos. 🤙

I loved hearing your praise for all of these books! I've never heard of The Elegance of a Hedgehog, and that sounds like one I might enjoy. Perfectly said about All the Pretty Horses! McCarthy's prose truly is a perfect match for that type of story and setting. As someone who has roots in that area, I felt like it was a beautifully authentic–though dark– experience of that culture and setting.

Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. Yes!!! What a brilliant book, full of drama and insight and humour. I find most of Dickens' novels to be too long, but for me this one is perfect as it is half the length of his longest novels, and beautifully paced.

My first video of yours. Your confession on not having read Jane Eyre or Pride and Prejudice had me starting to question your list before hearing it. But I waded through it. It is an interesting list, and not the same suite offered by most booktubers. I was surprised to see John Updike in there.

_Given that you haven't read Jane Eyre, of all things, hearing _The Elegance of a Hedgehog_ i have to ask: Have you read Tolstoy's _Anna Karenina_ or _War and Peace_? I also wonder what else you are missing. Based upon what I am seeing in this brief list of 15 (and a quick look of your books seen in your intro, and a scan of your videography), I would recommend these:

- Western: Lonesome Dove (my top recommendation for you)
- SciFi: Day of the Triffids, The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Dispossessed, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
- As I Lay Dying
- Wuthering Heights
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
- Short Story Horror: I Am Legend

- Have you read Demon Copperhead?
