Tofu Bacon Bits 🥓
Tofu bacon bits are a game changer! Absolutely delicious!! I've used them in quite a few recipes, like my bacon jalapeño lime hummus & my savory chickpea muffins! Check my next posts for those videos 🤗
All you need is 1 block super firm tofu(you can use soy free) & a delicious bacon marinade. You can use this marinade for any bacon substitute you like, like rice paper bacon! 🥓
🌱Bacon Marinade 🌱
•3 tablespoons Liquid aminos or low sodium soy sauce
•2 tablespoons Nutritional yeast
•2 tablespoons Oil
•1 tablespoon Maple syrup or agave
•1 teaspoon Liquid smoke
•1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
•1 teaspoon Garlic powder
•1 teaspoon Onion powder
•1 teaspoon Mushroom seasoning (optional)
•1-2 tablespoons water (or more for your desired consistency)
Add more sweetner if you want it sweeter. You can even add a little cayenne pepper or sriracha for a lil kick!
Taste & adjust to your liking!
🌱Thinly slice the tofu(i used a mandolin, you can use a knife) break into pieces & cover with marinade. Marinate for at least 30 minutes. It will still taste delicious if you dont have time to marinate it. (I didn't)
Bake at 400°F for 30-40 minutes, flip halfway & keep an eye on it so it wont burn. Allow them to cool & enjoy!🌱
