In this video recorded last year, but only recently edited, I buy a 2006 Fiesta for £100. It has been off the road for a year and needs a bit of work to recommission it. This part sees me struggle with a damaged battery tray.

Please have a look at some of my other films.

Exactly the same problem on my Fiesta 🤦‍♂I won't replace the tray but will get a used one. Well done and thanks for the video!

This must be insanely common as I recently got a Fiesta and found the bolts completely seized like this, but also rotated with the nut when you tried to loosen it. I had to resort to tearing the enclosure apart with pliers after trying to drill the bolt snapped a drill bit! What a terrible design!

Just had same issue with the nut, put wd40 on to hopefully loosen resorted to drill. Worked for one and broke other in plastic housing. When you take the plastic tray out visible over to right underneath is piece of metal, any idea what it’s called? Mines rusted all way through along with whatever holds ECU in place. I see a part online that looks like it might hold battery and ecu. Hopefully simple fix. Reason is arch liner for passenger front is non existent.

Just tried taking the retaining bar off my fiesta battery. Same problem but on opposite bolt, nut and bolt turning together. Think this will be the solution, but will try the slot method first. Wish me luck!
