A friend of mine is 69 years old. fitter than most people who are in their 20's, can do the splits, resting heart rate of 50! BP perfect, has bloods done yearly and Drs are amazed! He also exercises daily and has done so all his life.. Starts everyday the same, stretching, then the gym four days a week, off days does his running and boxing !

Love Mentzer and Arthur Jones stories. Two of the most interesting guys in bodybuilding history in an industry with very uninteresting people.

My great grandmother died @ 104
Hopefully I have the same genes as she does, or at least my mom inherited them :)
It’s an interesting case study tho
When she was 104, her 2 sisters were in their 90s/100s too, I’d love to go more in depth about this

Jones marketed the pullover like crazy. It does demonstrate his contributions to machine design (rotational/omnidirectional so full rom & peak contraction, direct resistance so force is against back of arm so removes grip & biceps as weak links). Those concepts are useful, but I've used several Nautilus p.o. machines, and they all had so much friction (adding resistance to the positive, decreasing it on the negative) that I've always thought the mystique around "the upper body squat" was mostly bullshit.
