Wouldnt a buffer or buffered pedal, or an eq pedal first in the pedalboard or chain, solve the sound problem?

Did you try and experiment wirh the cable tone knob on the unit to correct the tone issue?

Literally every player I know who has used a 2.4 or 5.8 system has had a massive failure at some point. This is typically after telling me that the rigs are rock solid and they have no need for a UHF rig. These systems are based on the cheapest tech possible and trash in context of their use. How a guy can spend thousands of dollars on instruments and other gear to then rely on devices like these is a mystery. Find a second hand UHF rig with the best band range for use in your area and forget most wireless problems.
