My Dad taught me how to use them! You make a hole in the gyproc first - then insert anchor. Then insert screw. They really do work!

I know how they work all too well. I've spent decades patching up the craters they leave in walls, picking up from the floor the shelves that they could not support and reaffixing said shelves to said walls with proper anchors that grip the wall from behind and don't chew up the gypsum.

The only thing I'd affix to a wall with these anchors is a router or other flat object that's placed high up and never disturbed.

I’ve hung shelves with these exact anchors for well over a decade without a single shelf ever even loosening from the wall, much less falling. You need to both understand how much weight each anchor is designed to bear and how much weight a relative section of Sheetrock can bear. As long as you keep that in mind and don’t use the shelves to store dumbbells you’re going to be just fine. Obviously having at least half the shelf anchored into a stud helps as well.

I just drill them in without any hammering or excessive drill bit use. They work perfectly and no issues.

NEVER use a power tool. Always a hand driver and always use the correct size screw. If the screw is too tight, you fucked it up.

They do suck. They're ok with light objects but with heavy objects use snap toggles, I've hung TV's with screw in anchors and have had them pull out.

Add woodglue to anchor inside the wall for added strength.

I can just go to home depot and just get the Gray metal versions of this and distribute the weight load accordingly when I install a shelf.

Oh I just give ‘em a push and start screwing no pre-drill required or desired… they work better that way. Also how do you get stuff out of gravity bar ?

Warning. You CAN hang a shelf with these. Definitely don't do it tho😉 Not manufacturer recommended.

Did you notice the head of the anchor has a Philips head? … drill hole slightly smaller, twist anchor in with Philips, now screw it to it.

I can hang an entire shelf on one screw, because I live in an East-German apartment tower, and every wall is made of the hardest concrete I have ever drilled into.
