I would have included the Siege of Alexandria from 48 to 47 BC. It's astonishing how Julius Caesar survived such a siege, especially considering that in having to retreat from Pharos Island he swam across the Alexandrian Harbor when his boat capsized. It was one of the most vicious campaigns of urban warfare in the Ancient World. And when the Egyptians cut off Caesar's access to freshwater, his soldiers countered by digging new wells.

Another great history lesson thanks Mike.
I would say Masada, however I don't really think that was a siege as all of it inhabitants were killed by their own people.

Actually I do have a favorite seige. It's the seige of Black Agnes at Dunbar Castle.
Basically all the men were away fighting the English down south when the Earl of Salisbury rolls up to her castle expecting an easy conquest and winds up losing in a seige situation against a woman and her household. He even tried bargaining her brother for the castle to which she responded his death would put her in a better position when it vomes to an inheritance. After a 5 month seige he gave up. She had won.

#2 Knew this one would be somewhere on this list. Some even resorted to cannibalism to survive.

Good job Mike.
Wish my Bruins and your Lightning had gone further in the playoffs.
Oh well shit happens.
Still think you should come up with a List 25 subject about the NHL sometime.
Have a good day man...

You're showing the film Waterloo. The battle fought to end Napoleon's return to power, not the siege of Paris, which is a later war, although German troops from Prussia, were involved in that battle along with the British and Dutch. 😁
