I agree with the comments below- 2 police to 45 prisoners. And very good question asked by the reporter- these men were not in handcuffs or shackles?? Very suspicious. I am happy the police officers were not hurt though. AK47 armed men running around in South Africa- very scary. Need to get a handle on crime as a matter of urgency- tackle with the same urgency as COVID We can aspire to live in a safe and free country.

normally they don't have an escort behind the prisoners. ...no the prisoner's are handcuffed n the van is not double doored prisoners put in a door locked behind them n then there's are small section for armed police ....n then an escort behind police van ...

Imagine fitting 45 prisoners in that truck, the SA prison system doesnt care about the petty crimes, they place you in the same room with murderers and rapists where you gotta pick a gang or be a victim to whoever picks the gang first... You might go in for 5 months but end up doing 5 years just to survive.

Well done to those who handed them self back to the police 🙌, even though I'm so unhappy about the number of inmates that were on that Vehicle during this hard time of Covid-19 😳.

President need to intervene, Covid-19 regulations were disobey and it was a life sentence to those inmates already since they had 100% chances of getting infected with covid19.

We hope the remaining will be caught back to jail very soon.
