(revision) Alive | Jekyll and Hyde animatic

part of my revision suite woohoo!

I was going for more fun poses / expression visibility, and positioning.
Also mapped out what was going on with the background in the bashing the poor guy part and where exactly the water should be.

ofc some questions don't need to be clarified like how many teeth hyde has.

there's still issues with fitting too many movements into too short a time but i want all my cake :)

best thing would've prob to rethink the whole flow of it, instead of trying to link the pieces together in a better way

One thing that almost every interpretation of Hyde changes is the fact that book Hyde was actually really short, almost to the point of dwarfism, so it's nice to see Hyde depicted as significantly smaller than his victim for once.
But also every interpretation also goes for the original movie version where the potion makes a good person evil instead of the book where the potion only changed Jekyll's appearance and he just used it so he could live out his darkest impulses without consequences.

I find myself repeatedly watching the final sequence where he surfs off the roof. There's just so much dynamic movement and feels absolutely unhinged in a way that makes my brain go

I wanna thank you so much because so far most of the animatics I have seen have always drawn Hyde as a handsome or pretty boy. Thank you for being one of the few who actually draws Hyde looking like a monster.

but no, really. i love how he's kind of this freaky, uncanny beast, it reminds me of the "scary stories to tell in the dark" art.

AND THE WAY HE JUST SCRAMBLES ACROSS THE GROUND ON ALL FOURS WITH THE CANE IN HIS MOUTH LIKE A DOG LIKE??? I LITERALLY SCREAMED. HES INSANE.

Oh my god this is so dynamic. Sometimes I look at those fan-made animatics and I just wish that IF Hollywood insists on making movie adaptations of Broadway musicals then they should just hire all of you guys instead of whatever "unique twists" they try to pull, it'd be an auditory and visual masterpiece.

I just can't stop looking at this, it's fascinating. You can really feel Hyde's euphoria at feeling alive despite all the horrible things he's doing.

This is the best Jekyll and Hyde animatic I've ever seen. As much as I like the pretty boy interpretations of Hyde, I also love how feral you make him look. It really sells the fact that he's meant to be a representation of the more animalistic and primitive side of humanity. (The poses you draw him in also just make him more charismatic, which makes him attractive in a freak gremlin way.)

I like how the complete Hyde design at the end contrasts your Jekyll design. Like they're clearly the same person, but Hyde's body still looks more in-shape than Jekyll

But Hyde isn't too thin himself either, he's pretty big but like I said, in-shape. To me it makes him look powerful. A nice contrast to Jekyll's more harmless appearance.
