I am a girl that is determined to do as much work as possible myself to finish my basement. This is helping ... the airgun scares the bejesus out of me. I had to chuckle on your attempt to nail into concrete :~)

Looks good. At 15:50 try to give your hand some more room. Just like bullets, nails do weird things when they hit inconsistencies like knots. Can easily come out sideways and get your fingers. Keep your hand away at least the length of the nail.

You should have watched the basement finishing man first

The ceiling nailers don’t have to be 16 on center. Every 3-4 feet should be fine.
It’s not structural. It’s only holding sheet rock. You could of just used the existing nailers and not added any. The basement finishing man has so much useful info. Including a computer program to draw a floor plan.

I came for woodworking tips and tricks, found you also like pew pews and BBQ. That’s a subscribe from me!

Chad I bought a couple shirts from you a couple years ago. Still my favorite shirts!! So I'm a hvac contractor from S UT. I can give you advice if you have duct work issues downstairs. Through Facetime or some pictures. Might save you some time and money. If you want help let me know!

Thanks for sharing your video, trying to learn some tips ect. I was wondering something. I have a new construction home with a unfinished basement but they put drywall on the ceiling. Will I have to remove all the ceiling drywall in order to frame the basement? Thanks

Awesome video! Love seeing the progression and the adjustments being made based on real life detours. I will say, I’m surprised you didn’t go for the concrete nail gun that uses the 22. I’m going to echo the other comment and keep fingers a nail length away. LOL.

Nails are a common way to join wood to concrete, but you have to be good with a hammer in terms of accuracy.

You'll know if you did it right, once you start hanging your sheetrock.
