#BAXI800REVIEW Baxi 800 review. Today we are doing a review on the all new Baxi 800. The Baxi 800 comes in 3 different sizes. 825 830 and 836 The 825 is 25kw, 830 is 30kw, 836 is 36kw. This new boiler from Baxi will suit most house styles and comes with a full 10 year parts and labour warranty. The Baxi 800 comes with a Adey Magnaclean Micro2 as standard. No stand off kit required for the Baxi 800 as you are able to run the pipes up the back as standard. The Baxi 800 also has a new flue kit available for ridge applications. All in all the new Baxi 800 is set to be a winner.
I'm quite excited today. I've got the new Baxi 800 combi boiler.

I'm going to to do a review on this boiler. The new 800 comes in a 25, a 30, and a 36. It also comes with a 10-year parts and labour warranty. It comes with a filter in the box now. It comes with an 80 MagnaClean, Micro, Micro2. If you don't like this filter, if you prefer different brands of filter you can use whichever brand you want. The boiler will still come with a 10-year parts and labour warranty. You just need to fit a filter with it.

Features and benefits of this boiler. It's a small boiler. It's a cupboard fit boiler. It goes all the way up to 36 kilowatts so you can ... It's good for if you want really good flow rates.

There's space up the back so if you want to put pipes up the back you don't need to think about it. If you go to a job and you think, "Ah, I wish I had been able to put pipes up back." Then you can just do that standard with these. You don't need to think about getting a stand off kit. Obviously sometimes when you get a stand off kit it'll pull the boiler off the wall a little bit. It might not fit in a cupboard anymore.

Yeah. Lets have a look inside.

To remove the case on this boiler we've just got two screws underneath. You can undo them with a spanner or you can undo them with a star-shaped Pozidriv. Undo them and the front cover will just lift off.

When we look inside the boiler we can see it's got the stainless steel heat exchanger. It's also got, on the front cover it's got some foam on the front cover. Hopefully that'll reduce the noise of this boiler. Pull down the flap on the front. If we have a look inside here we can see it's got a Grundfos pump. It's got brass components. All the components are brass, which personally I like to see in a boiler. Expansion vessel on the right-hand side there.

These panels, on the side, also come off. You can undo the screws out and you can take this panel off if you needed to get into any of this.

There's the Schrader valve on the top of here. The Schrader valve being on the top of the boiler will make it very easy for servicing. If you want to top that up or pump that up on a service it's nice and easy.

If we just have a recap on the inside of the boiler it's got a Grundfos pump, which is a 15-60 pump. That's a high efficiency pump. It's got the brass components. The PRV is forward facing, so if you ever need to change the PRV, be nice and easy to do. It's got brass on that side as well. The plate at the back there, so if you take that burner out you could always get to the plate heat exchanger very easy.

It's amazing how much space there is in the boiler. It would be very, very easy to work on. As I say, these panels come off the side. If you did ever need a bit more space then you could remove them, but you wouldn't need to, to be honest.

For anybody who watches my channel, or subscribes to my channel, you'll probably see me installing quite a few of these. I've been waiting for a cupboard fit boiler with a 10-year warranty from Baxi. I've always fitted the Platinum for years. I always loved the Platinum. The Platinum's going shortly. This is the replacement. Yeah, it's all good.

One thing to point out with this as well, they've also brought out the flue kit. That's the iForce with a ridge terminal. If you needed to use one of them then you can do.

All in all what do I think of it? I think it's really good. If I'm honest with you I think this is probably going to be my boiler of choice. I will instal whatever a customer wants, to be honest, but yeah it's a very, very good option. 10-year parts and labour warranty. Yeah, can't go wrong.

Hi Allan I'm not a gas engineer but I've watched your videos to help me make a decision on wether I should have my existing boiler repaired or replaced, my decision was to replace with the Baxi 830 as all in it was going to cost appropriately double the repair of the old boiler but the fault was intermittent and also not a good install ( could see this from watching your other vids ) my gas engineer from the North East was brilliant and recommended the baxi he's done a great install, your videos are not just for engineers but customers to help make good decisions and choose professional installers thanks .

I fit glowworm, but if I ever changed I’d swap to Baxi, soon as you took the cover off I’m immediately familiar with what’s in it.
Take a front cover off a Worcester, one with the green clips that break and I’m just confronted with a shit load of plastic

Hi Allen, love your videos and been following you for some time. One months ago I decided to pull the trigger and install a top of the range Baxi 836 combi together with top of the range heating controls, these being the Honeywell EvoHome control unit with smart TRVs and the OpenTherm bridge wired into the boiler. Seemed like a good set up, and the items are very good, but after a few minor issues and a few phone calls to Baxi, not helpful, and then to Honeywell, this is what they answered: "Following our discussions unfortunately as suspected the Baxi 600/800 series are not compatible with our Opentherm controls. Baxi has it's own Opentherm controls and when connected to the Opentherm the usense baxi thermostat takes control of the HW settings, this will not occur with our product".
IN essence, my new heating system seems to work fine except for some times the smart TRVs reading higher temperatures that actual schedules temperature but still push out heat, as if they are still on and not shutting down, but the real issue is that I have lost the possibility of controlling the hot water temperature. As the OpenTherm takes over the boiler dials and controls, the hot water knob on the boiler no longer works and the Honeywell EvoHome controls unfortunately do not control the hot water on a combi.
Are you aware of this issue, other issues and/or the incompatibility and what may happen in the long run if I continue using it??? Do you have a solution to this and/or suggestion or alternative similar controls I could install???
Would really appreciate your feedback.
Thanks

Hi Allen. Love the vids. I’m moving into a two bed maisonette that has an old conventional boiler and looking to replace with a combi. What would you recommend the property has 6 radiators. Only me living there. Cheers

Hi Allen, I am looking for a powerful flow boiler to pump x5 double convectors, x4 single convectors type 22 and x1 towel radiator. I am debating between Baxi 836 or Platinum + 40 combi. What do you suggest ?

Thanks Allen. Would you still recommend the Baxi 800 series? I'm looking to replace my current combi boiler. I have 12 x radiators plus 2 x bathrooms (1 x shower). Need a good reliable combi .

Realy nice that baxi let you choose best filter for the installation and still give 10 year warranty👍✅ i think vaillant will suffer in the future with insisting on installers using unvalved spirotec filters. specially with the f75 fault

What do you think of intergas allan? Been very impressed with them recently. Used to fit baxi but feel they dropped a bomb with their baxi main eco which they took off the market and I haven't used since.

Hi, do you know if the 36kw is the same size as the 25 and 30 ? im getting conflicting info all over the place, the baxi website states the standard sizes but then in brackets next to it has larger measurments named ' 32 model' ?

My Baxi 800 cycles on and off every 3 minutes while heating up to the roomstat temp. Switching the pump between the 3 speeds makes little difference. Likewise changing the flow temp made no difference, left it at 55 degrees. Why is it turning on and off so frequently and why is it on 50% of the time? It's no cheaper to run than my old boiler. I have a well insulated modern 3 bed semi.

Would I see a difference in my energy bills swapping out my near 20 year old Conventional Potterton 30L suprima boiler for one of these? Not sure whether there would be much difference going from Conventional to Combi. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi Allen, how does the specification and output for hot water and heating for a Baxi 830 compare to replace an old Main Combi 30 HE?

Also considering Baxi 600 range or Main Eco Compact 30?

Any advice on the key considerations or differences welcome. Thanks.
