I just want you to know, I have never forgotten Ripley, Maeve or Toupac, but I sure did mourn for you. The other day, one of your shorts popped up in my feed, and I decided to revisit your page... you have no idea how happy I am for you. You deserve all the happiness and joy in the world. Losing a beloved family member is the hardest thing anyone has to endure, and so deciding to take in and rehabilitate birds with the knowledge that the worst might come sooner than later, is the single most selfless, brave thing anyone who truly loves their animals can do. I seriously think about fostering or adopting senior dogs, but I truly don't know if I'm strong enough to do it, to go through that pain over and over, but I have so much respect for the people that do... I seriously look up to them and consider them actual saints. Actual angels on earth. And you're one of them. Thank you for everything that you do for these beautiful, funny, unique, gorgeous, smart, loving birds. And thank you for documenting all of it on this page- if you hadn't, I never would have learned about them, and never would have known the joy they bring into the world.

Hi Brock. This is strange. Apparently I wasn’t subbed anymore. I haven’t checked in, in over 3 years. Holy moly… a lot has happened. I remember Toupac died, which was a painful experience as a follower, but after that I didn’t get any notifications. Nothing. I cried when I saw him in his little towel and had to explain all the emotions to my bf about missing toupac, being happy for brock, and just feeling emotional about the new toucan's condition. He's just a little guy. 🥹

It’s so hard to lose a beloved person whether human or other animal. It doesn’t matter how long that person has been with you. We had to euthanize our beloved amazing 9 year old Boxer early this year and still can’t talk about it without crying. Years ago we rescued a sweet little Bassett who developed leukemia shortly after we rescued her. She had all kinds of health issues and was so patient and sweet about her treatments for those issues. We released her from her suffering…with her other issues to have put her through chemo would have been cruel. We still miss her. I believe grief is another side of love.
