Complete remission is the goal for anyone living with lupus - at least until we finally find a cure!

However, the definition of “remission” keeps changing, and what’s more - for many, a better, more achievable goal is something called a “Lupus Low Disease Activity State.” You may have heard this term when talking to your rheumatologist. Yet, what does it mean to get to a “low disease state?” How is it different from “remission,” and what can it mean for you?

Here to answer these questions and more is one of our favorites, Dr. Donald Thomas, a clinical rheumatologist and author of The Lupus Encyclopedia, 1st and 2nd editions.
