So far in Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 of this Tips & Tricks series, we’ve walked you through our pre-production workflow for GLASWING’s “Like Water On A Glass Table” music video.

In this episode, we’re shifting the focus to a very important part of this process: how to get cinematic lighting in a music video

Shooting a cinematic music video on location often means making last minute adjustments to ambient lighting, whether indoors or outdoors. And if you need to introduce and diffuse light at multiple locations (like we did), things can get complicated quickly.

For this GLASWING music video, we knew we needed to do three things: build a light box, use an overhead RBG ring light, and create an interior home lighting setup.

In this video, Chris will be shedding some light (pardon the pun) on why we made these lighting decisions and how we rigged our locations to get the footage to look exactly like we wanted during production.
