Myson TRV-2-Way Thermostatic Radiator Valve Replacement Head

Показать описание

Replacement head for Myson thermostatic radiator valves.

Head only - no valve included.

The metal lock ring has a 30mm x 1.5mm metric thread (Myson has used this thread for a long time, though very old Myson valves use a smaller 28mm x 1.5mm thread).

Our video shows details of the head, including how to identify a faulty head and how to replace the head.

The spring-loaded pin that the valve pushes down on can also get stuck if your rad won't get hot take off the valve and make sure this pin is all the way up/moving freely

What's the best way or tool to use in order to get them to unscrew off the radiator? Mine seems jammed or cross threaded.. Won't budge. It's very awkward - not much purchase so close to rad itself.

Thanks for the video. I have very similar Myson TRV heads. I removed a couple recently & found they were difficult to screw back on. In your video at 0.27 the plastic pin of your head is flush with the bottom of the collar (as you hold the head upside-down). On both the heads I removed, the plastic pin is flush with the top of the collar with the head held upside-down. When I try to screw the head back on I have to push the head down quite hard against spring resistance in order to start screwing on the head's collar. The radiators with the replaced heads don't get warm so I assume the head is closing off the valve. When I remove the head again, once the collar has unscrewed, the head springs off. I do have one Myson head bought recently which doesn't have a central pin & this can be taken on & off without resistance & operates as it should. Any idea what's wrong or is it anything you've seen before? Grateful for any help - thanks!

I’ve the same heads on my rads and I’ve just removed one rad for decorating but discovered a slight weep from the valve so I suspect the head is defective. If I put a blanking cap on can I replace the head without leaks?

i think my head might be broken as it won't screw back on, what happens if i just left it open for now? Would it leak?
