What a real beautiful interview…and Stan I love your music! It gives me goosebumps!mand resonates A lot yourve said resonates with me..Cept I still have a journey to connect…find me and be grounded cos Maori was taken away from me..not intentionally as such it was a protection from my mum in a small South Island town where is was not cool to be brown and called the “N’ word lots…lots of fights to stop that! . I came to North Island and felt I belong in NZ..I didn’t feel how I did at home…there were lots of Maori not just 4families and the earth under my feet felt like home..and the pungas! although I still didn’t know how to koreo or protocol! Still don’t! Cept my son thankfully has! Cos his Dads whanau know and have bought him up in their whakapapa from North....It’s my promise when I can have the luxury if it happens from not working to learn everything I can with my sons help. Ppl say you can learn online…I’m not savy with internet and I’m a person who needs to be immersed I’m not an online person Im a need to be there person. My son knows that till I know who I am I won’t be grounded! I’m 58…I’m grounded in wrk and bills..I’m not grounded in me and life!..I’m selling my wee cottage to be with my son and wife and wee grandaughter! Then it’s my time with my wee whanau to do this! Together! It’s my wish! And Stan…you give me inspiration to do this and that I still can..What a beautiful interview. My heart is so humble and thank you! ❤️❤️‍🔥💖💝
