nash took a roster that had shawn marion and raja bell as the 2nd/3rd options, boris diaw and a bunch of three point shooters to the second best offense in the league, the team was 9 points worse when he was on the bench and they got to the conference finals. it's insane how little ppl respect him just because they think kobe should've won MVP, making a good roster a championship contender will always be better than making a mediocre roster a good one

Whats was great about Nash mvp was most of the roster lacked the ability to get their own shot on a consistent basis and he still made them elite in the west. Damn near same roster when Marbury was there and they were barely 8th seed.

Nash’s MVP seasons are pretty gpod, I mean as I remember he just doubled or trippled their wins just after joining the team.

It would be in a good MVP season in other years, it’s just that the whole decade was stacked with the best players ever, and a Kobe who got the worst supporting cast an alltime great has ever seen, with the toughest conference in nba history during the most defensive decade of nba history, still put up one of the best seasons of all time, averaging OVER 35 points with good amount of ast and rebounds, where he also broke several records like the 2nd highest scoring game of all time (and 1 if we only talk about modern nba games) and nearly outscoring the opposing team almost by himself and so on and so on, would be one of the greatest MVP seasons of all time but it was given to Nash (and Kobe only ended up 4th over billups by a very small margin, only because his team sucked and they got an intermediate record), that’s why it’s extremely hated and underrated

Lets not forget before the lakers got pau in the middle of the season in 2008 the lakers were already the number 1 seed while kobe had smush parker and kwame brown. People seem to forget that.
