Sir, you are the biggest kayak/canoe nerd I have ever seen, and I say that as a term of endearment. You are so into your projects it is hard not to get infected by your enthusiasm. I can't wait to try building one of my own. Thank you for doing what you do. Cheers!

The moveable thwart is a cool idea. I've played with boats with broken or missing thwarts, and flat water is fine, but once it gets bumpy it's pretty spooky. If your mount system is strong enough, this could be a pretty handy approach. Thanks for sharing the design process with us.

Three nested, in a Van, down by the River. Boss action that is!

Very few mortals have carried three canoes on one shoulder. Spectacular stuff.

Blown away, 5 canoes in 11 days, 3 that nest, and looks like the perfect pack boat for pond fishing and backcountry lake trips. Took me 4 months to build one 16 footer. Like the removable thwart concept. Joe Robinet uses a 14' Swift Kevlar similar style with clamp on carry thwart and central kayak style Yours are will be stiff competition. Brilliant! I will keep an eye on your web site for the finished plans this Fall.

Dang, wish I lived on the West Coast so I could borrow and test one. :)
Alas, it will have to be tested by me....in Spirit.
Love the experimental process. You sure are quick at kicking them out.
A true sign of the mastery of boat building.
Thanks for sharing.

Brian, thanks so much for sharing this process! I've been thinking about building something along the Wee Lassie design for camping along the lakes and rivers in the Adirondacks and New England, but I really like what you are designing. I want a boat that is light enough for portaging and is efficient to paddle with a double paddle, and I believe your design is going to hit the mark. Best of luck with the process this summer. I am eager to see the final design and build.

Jeez Brian. I think that Intro just sold me on trying canoes. Such utility... I'm gonna need another boat rack. And was that the quickest skinning job ever?

I am interested in this boat. I have already built a skin on frame canoe that looks a little like this but I really like your design and concepts here and would like to build one.

Love where you're going with this design... pun intended. The nesting, sailing features are my favorite. Do you think you would venture into a nesting pair of say, 15-16 foot lengths? Either way you have a customer, anxiously awaiting the final draft here in Alaska. Thanks much for bringing us along for the builds.

As for the motor, try fixing a rechargable hand drill with a proppeller on a rod to the canue or kayak

Thank you! I am, like most viewers, extremely excited to build or follow your build. I have begun gathering wood are you using red cedar for the laterals and ash for the steam bent ribs?

Do you need testers still? I'm only an hour away and would love to paddle one of your canoes!
