13 wars and like 15 trillion.

Those companies got rich as fuck off shipping our jobs over there. And then bought yatchs.

Prob should have invested a lot of that into the country. But whatever. Free market something something

In the hyper capitalist system of the US there is no incentive to build hsr. It's a costly project and doesn't look good on quarterly reports😂 There can be no costly long-term investments in a system where profits only dictate the market

All the reasons you gave as to why America lacks high speed rail sound like excuses to me. You cite a fragmented political system. Whose fault is that ? How is that any different from saying that the reasons third world countries are poor are cronysim and corruption? Letting the corporations set the agenda regarding how a nation is organized is the reason America is failing on every metric. It's not the only reason but a major reason.

I thought you did a very good job on this.
A personal challenge that I had one time, was that I was traveling from Texas to Seattle and I explored taking the train since my time frame was flexible. The cost of a ticket from Dallas to Seattle at that time for a train that would take several days, and also would require me to pay meals and other things not included. Was going to cost around $1, 200 whereas a plane ticket would be $300 round trip.
For train travel to make sense again to Americans, there is going to have to be some wise people put in charge of Amtrak and other organizations like this since there is still a Romanticism about train travel in America but it is not practical to go distance at all.

It's great if you can use the train for holidays or even when you go to work. If you live in a country where public transportation is developed, you don't need a car anymore. I live in Switzerland, where you can see from student to millionaire as if on a train. It is nothing special when the president of the country also travels with train. In 3 hours you are in Milan, Munich and Paris perfect for a week trip. If you are in Paris, you can quickly go to London in just 2 hours 15 minutes. This is faster than by plane and you are right in towntown of London

Democracy is slow. China does not have that "problem".

China always people focus, the only goal is the well-being of citizens and future of human. For ev, if automotive industries ain't monopolize or oligopoly control by companies wth high political influence . Furthermore European automotive companies follow US to stay slow with renewable energy development, promote fuel energy vehicles, slow ev development . Such as Exit Paris treaty, ended renewable energy infrastructure development. China ev would rose to current status. Be fair when all others either existed or lack of interest on ev, then other focused, succeeded. Thus because target to attack. I see China ev companies willing to collaborate and share technology, just like Mercedes-Benz with avatar.
