There’s nothing more upsetting than seeing your beloved dog struggle to walk and move as their legs start to weaken and give out with age.

But, why exactly does this happen, and what can we do as owners to help them?

Are there any braces that actually work and make a difference. Some online are $300-$400. I was going to buy one for my 15.5 yr old Australian Shepard but they said her thigh was too small. :( Doctor wanted 2500 bucks each knee to change how th eknee sits over the joint which she said helps usually, but given her age, this was about 4-5 yrs ago, we didn't want to do it and pay 5k as the odds were not great for 10 yr old dog. Since then, it's gotten much worse, but she can still use one leg to get herself up and falls down a lot. Would think a brace would help stabilize it but not sure.

Can someone please help, i took my dog to the vet to get treated for an abscess in his front leg. I didn't get him back for 2 full days. Even tho they said he would be ready the next day i dropped him off. They said he'll leave with a cast. He still had open wounds with no cast. He had no problems with his hind legs before I took him in. Now he doesnt walk on it and keeps it in the air. Did they do something to my dog? Hes 4 1/2 months. Please help.

My rescue dog who is 9yrs old German Shepherd started limping and suddenly one day she was in so much pain and was shouting :( she couldn't get up so we took her to the vet.

They said Articular cartilage might have a problem but is that arthritis? Joint disease? We were not told the exact reason.

She's is currently able to stand up but with support and take a couple steps only
