2025 Mazda CX-5 Revealed - Power, Performance, and Price Breakdown!
Are you ready to explore the latest updates to one of Mazda's most beloved models? The 2025 Mazda CX-5 compact crossover is set to hit U.S. dealerships later this summer with a starting price of $29,990, making it $685 cheaper than the 2024 model. This price adjustment comes after a significant increase last year, and while the CX-5 S base trim has returned, it hasn't completely offset the previous hike. The destination fee has also increased by $45, bringing it to $1,420.
Mazda has made several changes to the trim levels for 2025, including the removal of the S Premium grade. Now, the lineup includes the S Select, S Preferred, S Carbon Edition, S Premium Plus, Carbon Turbo, Turbo Premium, and Turbo Signature. Unlike the 2025 Mazda CX-50, which introduces a new hybrid powertrain, the CX-5 sticks with its current engines. The standard powertrain is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. An optional 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is also available, offering 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, or 256 horsepower and 320 pound-feet with 93 octane fuel. Both engines come with all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Fuel economy remains unchanged, with non-turbo models achieving up to 28 miles per gallon combined. These models also feature an engine stop/start system and cylinder deactivation to enhance efficiency. Standard driver-assist features include blind-spot monitors, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control. Convenience features include a 10.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-speaker audio system, dual front USB-C ports, and reclining rear seats with cloth upholstery on the base CX-5 S.
Higher trims offer additional amenities. The S Select, priced at $31,320, includes auto-leveling headlights, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, a six-speaker audio system, and rear-seat vents with dual USB-A ports. The S Preferred, at $32,670, adds a sunroof, power tailgate, leather upholstery, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, and a driver-side memory system. The S Carbon Edition, costing $34,020, features unique styling options, a 10-speaker audio system, and wireless phone charging.
