In June 1953, H.L. Yoh Company Inc. I introduced seven sketching projects of the new tank and made proposals for the design of a number of its nodes. All sketches suggested the use of the AOSI-1195-5 8-cylinder engine as a power plant. The M-III-Y project provided a tower with a small frontal projection, a gun mask of an original design, a suspension with horizontal shock absorbers and an additional caterpillar inside the main one, which would provide the maintenance of maneuverability in case of damage to the main caterpillar. Work on the project was frozen, not a single copy was built.
