Just imagine the pain Clement felt after losing that last point. 7 hours of up and down, 7 hours in that rollercoaster of emotions that result in complete emptiness in your heart.
It's only the first round, you cannot even comfort yourself thinking about previous match you won. The only thing you have left is a huge loss after 7 hours of sweat, and now your body gets colder and your start feeling the pain in your whole body. You lose a long tight match like that, it leaves a scar on your mind for years, Man that match will follow you for a while and you'll think about it for some time. The greatest thing is to be able to recover from that and achieve great things. Some players had their career collapsing after a loss like that. I personally think the match Verdasco lost against Nadal at the AO in semi final in 5 sets where he had the upper hand took a great toll on his career, though he managed to finally beat him years later.

De 4:51:41 à 54, il y a un mec en rouge, il a pas eu un seul autographe alors qu'il a essayé 2x avec Fabrice et une fois avec Arnaud, il me fait de la peine mdrr
Et pourquoi ils ont pas laissé finir le match, ils pouvaient pas savoir que ça allait durer si longtemps mais à 5/5 dans le derniers set il aurait pu rester 2 jeu...et ça a aurait été moins long !

Avec un coup droit à une main, Santoro aurait une bien meilleure carrière. Dommage de s'être " compliqué" son tennis avec une prise ( mauvaise) de raquette héritée de l'enfance. À ma connaissance il n'avait pas de déficience physique pour opter pour un coup droit à 2 mains qui l'a empêché de passer d'un très bon joueur pro à un brillantissime joueur pro.
En gros il a joué toute sa carrière avec un revers des deux côtés. Or on sait bien que le coup droit est majoritairement le coup " fort" et naturel en tennis.
Mais bon il a assumé son style de jeu et accompli une carrière honorable.

Of course, in fairness to Anna, it must be pointed out that she did so in just 2 sets. I'm also wondering if the lovely AK ever played @ the French Open. I bet she did, and more than once.
