THE CHRISTIAN HOPE PART 2

God understands human nature and our tendency to doubt, especially when it comes to promises. He is aware that we are prone to evaluate His promises based on our experiences with human promises, which are frequently broken. Knowing this, God did not leave us in uncertainty to hope in doubt and fear. Instead, He provided absolute assurance of His unchanging promise, giving us a firm foundation for our hope.

"So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of His purpose, He guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek." — Hebrews 6:17–20 (ESV)

The Holy Spirit is God’s seal and guarantee of the eternal glory that awaits us. Through Him, we have an unbreakable assurance that the hope we have in Christ is not in vain. Just as Christ’s priesthood intercedes for us, the Spirit within us testifies that we are God’s children, heirs of His promise, and destined for eternal glory.
