I'm late to the party, but got a lot to say, so bear with me.
Props to the guy that came up with the combo in the video. Not perfect, but gives us a great starting point to optimize from. My suggestions below probably won't fully optimize the combo. Feel free to chime in with better suggestions.
Here are ways to improve the consistency (points 1 through 4 are common sense, so feel free to skip to 5a):
1) Tropical Island is interchangeable with Breeding Pool, and is technically better anyway.

2) Ornithopter is interchangeable with any non-land 0-drop creature, just as long as it's legal in Green/Blue commander.

3) Seeker of Skybreak is now interchangeable with Corridor Monitor (which didn't exist at the time of the video), and Seeker of Skybreak is interchangeable with Kiora's Follower. (Corridor is not a valid target for Woodland Bellower cause its blue.)

4) Pestermite is interchangeable with a bunch of stuff like Bounding Krasis and Vizier of Tumbling Sands.

5a) If we optimize the combo interactions, we can ramp a free mana off the land during the Vannifar chain to reduce the mana we need (from steps 1 and 2 in the video) to UGG2 (five mana). I'll explain how we ramp the mana in 5b. This means that Retract was basically just ramping us a colorless mana, as it also cost us a land mana to cast. Retract is therefore interchangeable with any card that ramps a single mana without messing up our colors. (Sol Ring, Gemstone Mine, Mox Opal, Elvish Spirit Guide, to name a few.)

5b) Woodland Bellower is fine, but since we're using Fatestitcher, Great Oak Guardian is better, as we can use the 5-drop spot to just ramp the mana needed to unearth Fatestitcher. Another small plus: Kiora's Follower not needed. Saves us a some work. Here's the optimized chain, starting from the point when Fatestitcher first enters play:
-Tap Fatestitcher to untap Vannifar, sac Fatestitcher for Tidewater Minion.
-Tap Tidewater Minion, untap the land. (You can also substitute any 5-drop that either taps for blue mana or untaps your land at no mana cost.)
-Tap the land for U and pay it to unearth Fatestitcher. Tap Fatestitcher to untap Vannifar.
-Tap Vannifar to sac Tidewater Minion (or whatever other 5-drop you used) for Great Oak Guardian. Untap all creatures, including Fatestitcher, and all your creatures get +2/+2. LOL.
-Tap Vannifar and sac Great Oak Guardian for Protean Hulk.
-Tap Fatestitcher to untap Vannifar. Tap Vannifar to sac Hulk and proceed with Hulk combo.

Yeah, you won. Now excuse us 3; we are gonna keep the board as it is to really play commander. Good luck finding another table!

My t1's are in Godo-Helm combo. Ramp to 3R plus treasonous ogre. The good news there is that the entire combo is in the CZ, so you only need the one specific card in the opening hand (t.ogre), and there's lots of ways to mix and match ramp to get him out. Similarly you can get to 5RR plus imperial recruiter (easiest with LED but not required). Or 5RR plus magnetic theft. And there's still some hands that can get there on KCI, or just a whole bunch of traditional ramp/ritual.

Way back in the day I played a Sneak Attack deck that won a few games on turn 1. Mountain, Lotus Petal, Simian Spirt Guide, Mana Vault, Sneak Attack and Serra Avatar. This was long before Gristlebrand and Emrakul were printed.

I guess we can basically find a silly T1 for most Commanders that combo easily. For any red based Combo you just ramp to 4 on T1 and play treasoneous ogre for the mana and then you can do stuff with Kiki, Hidetsugu, Godo or you could do something like

Ancient Tomb
Mana Crypt
Lotus Petal
Seething Song
Desperate Ritual
Zealous Conscripts (untapping Mana Crypt)
Play Kiki Jiki from the CZ and win

Turn 1 win Teysa, Orzhov Scion
Swamp
Mana Crypt
Lotus Petal
Sol Ring
Dark Ritual
Darkest Hour + Teysa + Altar of Dementia + Memnite for infinite mill

Budget version: No Mana Crypt. Turn 2 Win.

In legacy I went lotus petal, ancient tomb into seething song. With my 5 red played sneak attack and activated it, put in combustible gearhulk. Opponent opted for me to mill 3 cards. I hit emrakul the aeons torn x2 and a worldspine wurm. They took 41 damage. Lol.

It would take an insanely stubborn person to try this. You either get those exact 7 cards in your opening hand or you lose. It's extremely easy to construct something that combos out on turn 3-5 consistently. My Sharuum the Hegemon deck locked the game on turn 5: was fun, it was filled with interaction but it never lost.

Vannifar seems like she has serious competitive potential, being a Birthing Pod on legs. I'm more interested in just making a toolbox deck with her.

That is such a specific combo and it's beautiful.

… wouldn’t that 1 floating blue mana from Breeding Pool disappear when you attack with the 1/1 to untap Vannifar at the very beginning of the chain?

Edit: nvm am dumb, just tap after combat

I have a turn 1, 2, 3, 4 win deck that if it makes it to turn 4 it has been a long game. (Usually it wins turn 3, i have pulled off turn 1 wins multiple times though. And the deck could be optimized to be faster, but i cannot afford a mana vault.

Sol ring, izzet signet, commander tower, omnispell adept, apex of power, omniscience and enter the infinite is a turn 3 win with all of these cards in hand.
Turn 1: commander tower, sol ring, signet.
Turn 2: omnispell adept
Turn 3: use omnispell adept to cast apex of power, make 10 blue mana and cast omniscience, then cast enter the infinite
Fairly budget option

Am I missing something or do you only have BGGCC as you have to spend a blue from the first step on retract?
