Well, my PI is at my sisters house (about 300 miles away) and I'll get it next time she visits. She managed to get one for about $10 but it was sent to her house! I've got a 7inch HDMI display ordered for it and I am currently putting together a uBitX that I plan to interface to the PI. But, I may consider VNC from my desktop computer!
Really glad that you are still able to keep the YouTube channel going!!!

Kevin, you are back in your element and it shows. Relaxed, confident, happy. Good to see! There will be bumps in the road, but the worst is behind you!

Thanks Kevin! This was very helpful. I just go my IC-7300 and Pi400 working flawlessly by watching this!

Hi,

I also connected IC-7300 to RAspbrry Pi 3 B+ (RPi), which is my main computer.

I connected to 24" LCD TV via HDMI, and configured Bluetooth keyboard and "Magic Trackpad as main input devices.

Most of time, I am using command line interface (CLI), to control IC-7300, with rigctl form hamlib v4.0-git.

YOu also can record audio from IC-7300 and send to the rig to be TX on the air, using FFMPEG, which is very useful to record important QSOs. :)

Great video, and looking forward for next videos.

THank you,

Hi Kevin., I was setting up a Pi4 to work WSJT-X with my Icom IC-9700. Could not find a specific video for that radio, but I came across this one. So I decided to
try your way as the two are similar. My first experience with a Pi, I thought this was going to be the typical fight to get going. Had it running in under 5 mins, only difference that it needed DTR instead of CAT to make the PTT work, and my baud rate was 19200. Thank you so much for putting these videos together.
Cheers, de GI0OTC

Hey Kevin, loved this video. I really think you could make a great series of videos surrounding the R Pi and Linux!! Share/teach your knowledge with us on the various aspects of how to understand linux. I have tried a couple of times and the learning curve is quite steep. If you don't mind considering it, I think it might be a hit!

I wish you would do a series on Linux - just learned more from this video (files in /dev) than I ever knew :)

Very nice tutorial video thank you, what I also want to ask is the configurations inside the 7300

My comment is a couple of years late, but: flrig and fldigi do have a bidirectional link - I think you need to set the IC-7300 CI-V or USB setting to “echo back” (which outputs back to the external pc).

Thanks for the great video. I found it informative and easy to follow. Your keyboard sounded like a bass drum pounding into my sound board. Maybe move the mic or insulate the case of the camera or tripod with foam. Keep up the good work

I just pulled the trigger yesterday on an IC-7300. $899 shipped, plus a 10 year warranty for $10. Thanks for the video. Are you going to make it to the hamfest in Mesa AZ this weekend ?

Kevin, not sure where you are in Mississippi, but there are Corps of Engineer rec sites down there, many have sanitary dump sites...

Nice I need to get started on such things. We have a 95 Jayco on a Ford E350. It's only 22 feet long and we don't get much use out of it.

This one is over my head a bit because I've never heard of FLDIGI or that other one. What I need is a basic how it gets hooked up with video of it being hooked up and what each hook up does. I'll look around some more and see what I can find.
