Dumb - Nirvana (Acoustic Cover)
Показать описание
This is a cover of the song "Dumb" by Nirvana, written by Kurt Cobain. In this video I kind of cheated.... The goal of this channel has been to make covers of songs, and eventually post some original content, all on the spot. That is, what you see is what you get, the dude with the guitar singing, and nothing else. No arrangements or complex audio processings; kind of mimicking a live performance. However, as you can notice, I did some vocal overdubs on this performance. Just in one part, the rest is as you see it.
At the end of the day beyond the original goal of making it as genuine as possible, with the belief that being genuine would be staying as faithful to reality as possible (I don't have 5 voices to harmonize with myself), what is far more important to me is the music, the beauty and aesthetics of it all. Personally I feel like being genuine to me is doing things in such a way where I am a servant to the song, to the art. That's the way I've been starting to see it, at least.
From now on there will probably be more vocal overdubs, little harmonies hidden here and there, in the corners the song, afraid to show reveal themselves. Maybe some backing track as well, although I'll try to stay as faithful and respectful to the original recording (the one taken on my phone and microphone at the moment of creation), so as to stay in that spirit of what it meant to be genuine in the beginning.
In any case, thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy!
